Vice President JD Vance Faces Protests During Vermont Vacation

Vice President JD Vance recently took a family vacation at Sugarbush Resort in Waitsfield, Vermont, following a tense Oval Office meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Upon his arrival, he was met by hundreds of pro-Ukraine protesters holding signs that called him a “national disgrace” and urged him to “support Ukraine.”

According to The New York Post, the demonstrations forced Vance and his family to relocate to an undisclosed location. However, Vance denied this claim, stating that they changed hotels for their children’s privacy, not because of the protests. He criticized the media for exaggerating the situation, insisting that his family “barely noticed the protesters” and enjoyed their time in Vermont (Hindustan Times).

Counter-protesters also showed up, waving “Make America Great Again” flags in support of Vance. Despite the tensions, Vermont Governor Phil Scott urged residents to respect the Vice President’s visit and emphasized the state’s welcoming nature (Associated Press).

The protests stemmed from Vance’s recent public dispute with President Zelenskyy. Vance had criticized Zelenskyy’s position on U.S. aid and negotiations with Russia, sparking backlash from pro-Ukraine advocates.
